Creation#

This specifies how to create a Playbook file with a .apbx extension.

Prerequisites#

To create a Playbook, a certain folder structure must be followed.

This structure consists of three main components:

  1. A Configuration folder with a custom.yml YAML file contained within

  2. A Playbook configuration file, named playbook.conf

  3. A PNG image for the Playbook, named playbook.png

Note

We recommend using a 256 pixel wide image for playbook.png.

Using 7zip To Create The Playbook#

To create a Playbook, 7zip should be used, as this allows for simple archive encryption. Having the Playbook encrypted protects it from the possibility of browsers or anti-virus software scanning it for executables inside.

  1. Select all the files and folders within the Playbook folder

  2. Right click and select 7-Zip > Add to archive…

  3. Name the archive as you please, with a .apbx file extension

  4. Set the Archive format to 7z, and set malte as the password

  5. Click OK

The resulting Playbook will now be a usable Playbook, assuming it was configured properly.
